Narrow Edge Innovations seeks a freelance graphics and web designer to work on as needed bases on a variety of projects. Individual must have a minimum of 5 years job related experience working in web design OR possess exceptional design/art direction skills. This individual will work primarily from their own location, but must be available for conference calls and web meetings.
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION: Under general direction, designs web page layouts and creates all necessary user interface graphics, icons, and color schemes. Partners with Developers to implement pages or applications into production. Requires knowledge of commercial internet/web tools and protocols.
QUALIFICATIONS: Requires a Bachelors degree, equivalent work experience, or exceptional design skills as determined by Narrow Edge. Advanced computer software skills, particularly using Adobe products. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal; ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Advanced HTML and CSS skills, and an understanding of modular web design theory. Solid, working knowledge of PHP and Javascript. Any Flash ActionScript experience would be a huge plus. Solid visual design principles including grid-based designs, color theory, typography, layout, user interface elements and production techniques. Utilizes key design principles and industry standards to ensure clear navigation, GUI, content design and ease of use for target audience; solicits feedback to make modifications. Understands and utilizes common web site development tools, creates web user interfaces using graphics standard graphics applications, understands brand value and how to extend it to the Internet.
Bottom line we need someone that can design clean, eye-catching, professional sites.
